A Story of Organic Spaces Formed by Emotions
작가는 인간이 현대사회를 살아가면서 감당해야하는 감정과 내면의 압박을 기반으로 세계를 구현해낸다.
섬의 형상으로 만들어진 이 공간은 내면이 외부세계를 받아들이는 방식으로 작가가 사회와 관계 맺는 감정적 구조의 은유이다. 내면의 섬으로 불려지는 이곳에 오와 후라는 씨앗의 존재가 살고있다. 이들은 출발점과 불확실성에 떠도는 가능성을 지닌 존재로, 우리가 겪는 경험을 작가의 눈으로 해석하고 대변한다. 잘해내고 싶다는 감정이 강박으로 넘어서면서, 섬의 밀도가 점점 빽빽해진다. 이것은 마치 강박 그자체를 창작의 원동력이 되는 현상을 보여준다. 이를 통해 감정의 지형이 만들어지고 세계가 확장되는 과정의 순환을 시각화시켜 기록으로 남긴다. 작가는 분채와 과슈를 겹겹이 쌓아 올려 색을 스며들게 하며, 이 과정은 감정을 천천히 받아들이고 쌓아가는 것과 닮아 있다. 색이 층층이 쌓이고 희미해지거나 깊어지는 방식은 불안과 안정을 오가는 감정의 변화와 맞닿아 있다. 이를 통해 감정과 공간이 유기적으로 연결된 세계를 구축하고자 한다.
The artist creates a world based on the emotions and inner pressures that individuals must navigate in modern society.
The space, shaped in the form of an island, serves as a metaphor for how the inner self absorbs the external world, representing the emotional structure through which the artist interacts with society. In this inner sanctuary, the seeds of O and Hoo reside. They embody potential, drifting between the starting point and uncertainty, and reflect the experiences the artist seeks to interpret and represent through their eyes. As the desire to succeed morphs into obsession, the island's density grows ever more compact. This mirrors how obsession itself becomes the driving force behind creation. Through this, the artist visualizes and records the process of emotional topography and the cyclical expansion of the world. Layering powdered pigments and gouache, the artist allows the colors to seep into one another—echoing the slow accumulation of emotions. The way colors build up and either fade or deepen mirrors the shifting emotions between anxiety and stability. In this way, the artist strives to build a world where emotions and space are organically interconnected.
